pound
something that I hate about losing people is that suddenly the story of losing them takes almost an equal part of the experience of living with them
pound is influenced by my connection to my wh/aacking community, visiting my mother’s hometown in Pangasinan, and learnings from Mamerto
Mamerto Lagitan Tindongan
Mamerto is from the Ifugao tribe in the Cordillera mountains in northern Philippines. He is an eighth generation Mumbaki, bestowed by his community as shamans/healers. He was initiated into the Baki Ifugao role by his father in 2011, though he grew up with the tradition since childhood. Baki is Ifugao’s spirituality, which is a way of relating with nature spirits, deities, and ancestors.
